Embodied Climate Agency (eca) is a platform that legitimizes and disseminates embodied climate knowledge from territories affected by extractivism, promoting the decentralization of climate knowledge and placing those who experience climate change at the center of the discourse. eca maintains that recognizing a plurality of situated responses enables diverse and context-specific climate action.
Committed to decentralizing climate-related knowledge and agencies, eca seeks to legitimize perspectives and expertise that emerge through the direct exposure to climatic events and its subsequent adaptation using local knowledge and resources. In doing so, eca maintains that those at the forefront of climate impact should also be at the forefront of climate discourse.
Founded by artist Daniela Medina Poch in 2023, eca has been enriched by the contributions of Abdulmazhitova Aisuluu, Abdulmazhitova Aziz, Elena Agudio, Esther Aragón, Marilyn Cruz, Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui, Esteiman Dario, José Eduardo Sánchez Díaz, Toribio Miguel Expositó, Paula García, Felipe Medina, Khristen Quiambao, Juliana Andrea Albarracin Silva, Erwin Torio, Miguel Valdivia, Ching Y U, and Mara-Michelle Wagner.
